International Journal of Euro-Mediterranean Studies (IJEMS) is an interdisciplinary forum devoted to studying issues at the intersection of humanities and social studies in the Mediterranean area. The Journal is a part of the Euro-Mediterranean University project which has already received wide political and academic support in Euro-Mediterranean.
The next issues will be dedicated to Arts and Heritage in Euro-Mediterranean. Arts and heritage are deeply involved in the long historical processes of cultural interventions and negotiations in Mediterranean, through constant creations, recreations, and negotiations of imaginary boundaries between cultures. Today, with the flow of capital, labor, and media, the cultural productions in Mediterranean can be seen as transnational and global. This issue is to be dedicated to the arts and
heritage as an expressive culture practices that play a significant role in representation of the symbolic boundaries, but also have a capacity to negotiate divisions, misrecognition and oppression among cultures.
The Journal will be published in English with abstracts in French and Slovene.
Submissions for consideration must be prepared following The Chicago Manual of Style. Manuscripts are accepted on the understanding that they not under simultaneous consideration by any other publication and will be double-blind peer reviewed. Papers should be between 5000 and 6000 words in length, accompanied by a 100-150-word abstract and should be sent to ijems@emuni. si.
