Regional issue, Social Policy & Administration, 2011
The social welfare system in China is in the process of major rapid change, much like other aspects of China’s economy and society. The core question for the Special Issue is how the relationship of the state to other actors in the welfare system has changed in the past ten years, and what the implications of these changes are. Specific topics may include the development of policy and regulations, institutional arrangement for policy making and enforcement, and the finance of welfare provision. These can be discussed with reference to the changes and challenges in the political, economic and social climate within China or in relation to global factors.
