Doctoral student in electronic circuit design, Lund University, Sweden

Lund University is Scandinavia’s largest institution for education and research in a great number of disciplines, such as engineering, natural sciences, law, social science, economics, medicine, theology and the arts. The University has over 38 000 students and approximately 5 300 employees located in Lund, Malmö and Helsingborg. We have a comprehensive global network and a growing co-operation within the Öresund University framework within Southern Sweden and Eastern Denmark.

LTH forms the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, with approximately 6 500 students and 850 PhD-students. The research carried out at LTH is of high international standard and we continuously develop our teaching and adapt our courses to the needs of today.

Lund University invites applications for the following position:

The PhD student will participate in a project entitled “Design Methods for Radio Architectures Going Nanoscale (DRAGON)” financed by the European Union. Besides LTH, the research consortium includes Ericsson, Infineon, KU-Leuven, IMEC, and TU-Graz. The project deals with the design of RF CMOS front-ends (i.e. LNA + mixer) with low noise and very high linearity at low power consumption. Such front-ends are crucial building blocks in 3G and 4G radio receivers. This is a full-time position, which includes 15% department work, mainly teaching.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. The position is mainly tailored for research and education within IC design, but it is an advantage if the candidate also has some knowledge in wireless communications. In the selection of the candidate, the following aspects are taken into account: marks from Master courses, quality of Master’s thesis and possibly other projects showing independent work, previous experience in the area of IC design and wireless communications, interview with the candidate. It is desirable that the candidate is proficient in the Swedish language.
