International Trade Law Postgraduate Course, Torino

Globalisation of business is one of the prominent features of commerce in the present world. As a result the international business community is becoming involved in an ever-increasing number and variety of international business transactions.

Therefore, the need for advanced specialised legal training in this field is felt widely both in industrialised and developing countries. It is in this context that - in a joint effort between the University Institute of European Studies and the International Training Centre, under the auspices of the Turin Association for the International Training Centre - the first edition of the International Trade Law Post-graduate Course was launched on 23 October 1990, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

The course has now reached successfully its 16th edition, having hosted 638 students, coming from 81 different countries and over 100 internationally renowned lecturers and experts. The programme is a partnership between the Turin Centre and the University Institute of European Studies. The Turin Centre provides the administrative framework while the scientific guidelines are mainly provided by the University Institute, in consultation with the Centre.

The course is organised under the auspices of the University of Turin (Italy), the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), the UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on the International Trade Law) and the UNIDROIT (International Institute for the Unification of Private Law).
