Research Fellow and PhD Studentship in Fuel Cell Materials Science School of Chemistry

** Salary - £26,915 - £32,137 per annum*
A vacancy has arisen for a researcher to work on solid oxide fuel cell anode development. The work will involve the development of new compositions and microstructures to improve performance in diverse fuels and to enable new concepts to be developed. A particular focus will be to develop new materials with high electronic conductivity that are stable under both fabrication and fuel cell conditions. It is an opportunity to join a leading edge research activity with strong interactions with industry. Experience in solid state chemistry, ceramics processing and electrical measurement would all be beneficial.
A PhD studentship will also be available on a related project and for those interested you should contact Professor John Irvine directly.
We anticipate that the position will commence on 1 February 2007, or as soon as possible thereafter and will be for 12 months in the first instance.
