International Workshop - Campus Grids and Scientific Applications

Scholarship / Financial aid: none
Date: January 31st - February 1st, 2008
Deadline: January 10, 2008.
Open to: all interested in life sciences, quantum chemistry, molecular biology

Announcement follows:

The workshop provides a forum for presenting latest results and for discussing current developments and directions in all aspects of campus grids and scientific applications for such infrastructures. This includes (but is not limited to) grid technology, middleware, workflow systems, as well as models and algorithms for scientific applications in campus grid environments. In terms of applications, a special focus is on application areas represented in the CPAMMS project (life sciences, quantum chemistry, molecular biology).

The main purpose of the workshop is to foster interaction and communication between experts in the development of soft- and middleware infrastructure for campus grids on the one hand and applications scientists, the potential “users” of this technology, who need to map their models and algorithms onto this infrastructure.

The workshop program features a series of invited speakers:

Ignacio Blanquer Espert (DSIC, Spain, confirmed)
Gianni De Fabritiis (Pompeu Fabra University, Spain, confirmed)
Dennis Gannon (Indiana University, USA, confirmed)
