Voluntary work
The European Roma Information Office (ERIO) is an advocacy organisation which aims at defending and promoting the rights of Roma communities and contributing to eradicate the discrimination and social exclusion faced by Roma. ERIO lobbies with European institutions and national governments for the improvement of policies aiming at the social inclusion of Roma in the EU member states, candidate and potential candidate countries. ERIO coordinates a network of Roma organisations supporting them to improve their advocacy activities and to establish their demands before European and national decision makers.
The European Roma Information Office (ERIO) is looking for volunteers.
Responsibilities
a.. Carrying out research on EU and national politics with regard to Roma issues and in the fields of anti-discrimination and social inclusion
b.. Supporting the information programme
c.. Proof reading and editing texts
d.. Supporting the maintenance of the organisations database of ERIO
e.. Supporting the up-dating of ERIO’s website
Profile
a.. University degree
b.. Strong organisational and communication skills
c.. English native speaker or mother tongue level
d.. Computer skills
Unfortunately, ERIO can not pay volunteers, but we offer:
The possibility to gain knowledge on lobbying with European institutions on anti-discrimination and social inclusion issues; to work in an international environment; to participate in international events; to become familiar with the landscape of NGOs working in Brussels; to become familiar with EU politics and Roma issues; to gain knowledge on fundraising issues
