We are one of the leading Engineering faculties in the UK, with five academic departments, all of which were rated either 5 or 5* in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise.
Applications are invited for a fixed-term Research PhD, to be based in the School of Computing. You will have a primary expertise in computer vision, knowledge representation and reasoning (in particular ontologies, qualitative spatial representations) , or symbolic learning and preferably more than one of these. You will join a large and vibrant research team to work on a new European Union Framework 7 Cognitive System funded research project investigating robust behaviour analysis using knowledge representation techniques and machine learning.
PhD studentship *(Job ref 312279)* – (EU or overseas fees): Cognitive vision is for three years, depending on satisfactory progression.
*PhD studentships will be paid at the rate of £12,600 in year 1, plus fees (either EU or Overseas rate)*
