IDM Center for Security Studies in cooperation with United Nations Institute for Training and Research, Programme of Correspondence Instruction in Peacekeeping Operations – UNITAR POCI will organize 1st Regional Summer School on Security Studies in September 2008. Postgraduate students, researchers, practitioners and high officials of security sector institutions from the countries in the region will be invited to attend a two-week summer school in Albania. International speakers – professors and experts from US, Europe and the Balkans – will instruct summer
school participants and will enhance their capacities to better understand global security challenges through six courses focusing on:
- Introduction to Security Studies and Human Security;
- Security in the Balkans
- Research and analysis in the field of security studies
- EU Common Foreign and Security Policy
- Global Terrorism
- Peace keeping and International Conflict Resolution
