Online Seminar: Cartoons and Multiperspectivity

From 11-15 October 2010, EUROCLIO will be hosting the Online Seminar on "Cartoons and Multi perspectivity". Aimed at teacher trainees, the seminar will focus on cartoons from the selected themes in 20th century history. Participants will debate the multiple perspectives that can be generated from these cartoons while identifying the biases with which they were created and disseminated.

Teacher training institutions from a wide range of countries, such as the University of Iceland, the University of Malta, Fontyns Hogeschool and Hogeschool van Amsterdam in The Netherlands, University of the West of England, University of Chichester, University of East Anglia, Edgehill University in Unit ed Kingdom, University of Pretoria and University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in
South Africa - Pretoria, Monash University in Australia, University of Montreal in Canada, have agreed to participate in the seminar. Guidance will be provided by Dr Ian Phillips, well-versed in multiperspectivity and the use of cartoons in history classrooms. More participating institutions are welcome.
