Postdoctoral Position in Automated Identification and Characterization of Landforms on Mars at the Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI)

A postdoctoral position is available at the Universities Space Research Association?s Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) to join a research project in automated identification and characterization of landforms on Mars and other planetary bodies. Automatic identification of craters and valley networks is of particular interest. The position is supported by NASA - AISRP grant and will be offered for an initial period of up to two years, with possible extension to a maximum of three years.

This is a multidisciplinary project and the successful candidate will have experience with at least one of the following: planetary geomorphology, image processing, pattern recognition, machine learning. The position requires a Ph.D. in one of these fields and excellent computer programming skills.
