Project Title: The impact of mental and social stimulation on the quality of life of elder residents in care settings

This research aims to examine the impact of social and mental activity on the quality of life of older adults in care settings in Ireland. This project will utilise quantitative and qualitative methodologies to examine perceptions of quality of life by residents and care staff. This research will be of particular importance in light of the demographic changes of the Irish population and the impact that these future changes may have on our health care systems.

Maximum available for post graduate fees under this grant is �5000 for the two years. Current EU fees are �2100 per annum and current Non-EU fees are �4550 per annum. Funding is also available for travel, materials and equipment associated with the research to be undertaken.
