Postdoc/PhD in Resistance Welding

The Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Management is looking for a talented Post Doc or PhD student with background in electrical or mechanical engineering to participate in the framework programme INNOJoint on Innovative Joining Processes applying Integrated Modelling.
The scope of this framework programme is to develop advanced numerical models applicable for simulation of Resistance Welding and Friction Stir Welding aiming at possible optimization of the entire processes.
IPL comprises a staff of about 180 persons and covers research and education in the areas of Materials Technology and Development, Micro/Nano Manufacturing and Process Development, Industrial Engineering and Management and Innovation and Sustainability.
Qualifications
The candidate should have a master's or a PhD degree in electrical or mechanical engineering and demonstrate qualifications or interests in the following:
· Testing and modelling of dynamic machinery
· Instrumentation and data acquisition
· Resistance welding
· Joining of micro-parts
· Materials technology
· Collaboration with industry (testing of production machines)
· Team oriented research work
Terms of employment
A Post Doc candidate should have a PhD degree in engineering or academic qualifications equivalent to the PhD level. The salary and appointment terms are negotiated in accordance with the current collective agreement for Danish University faculty members. A PhD candidate should have a master's degree in engineering or a
similar degree with a level equivalent to the master's degree in engineering. A PhD student will be enrolled in the general degree programme within Construction, Production, Civil Engineering, Environment and Transport at DTU. More information on terms of study and employment may be found at
