The Summer School Programmes 2007
Our programmes run from Monday 23 July to Sunday 12 August 2007
"The summer school was very well organised between academic and leisure, very informative and multicultural. It was a great experience for me. I would do it all over again.": Nadine Awde took a 7 week internship followed by the 3 week Creative
Writing programme.
Whether you are about to start University, already studying at University or have an interest in an educational holiday, our summer schools can meet your needs.
Within the summer school you can choose to spend three weeks studying one of the following programmes:
Archaeology: Exploring the North of England
Creative Writing: 'North of Where ?'
Culture and Heritage
Doing business in Europe
History: Culture and Imperialism
International Politics and Contemporary Global Change
Media and Journalism: Writing for the Media
Urban Design Project: Sustainable Neighbourhoods
The University also provides an English Language Summer School.
Each programme will be made up of 16 hours contact time each week (a combination of seminars, lectures, tutorials and field trips) and 18 hours of self-directed study. Find out more about what a typical day is like.
Each three week programme is accredited by Newcastle University. Students taking the summer school for credit must check programme acceptability with their home institution before registering. The University will help you with all details of credit transfer and can supply all transcripts and programme details to your home institution.
Social Programme
You can make the most of your time in the UK taking advantage of the social programme. We run many social activities with the English Language Centre Summer
School so you will get to meet international students with a wide range of nationalities and cultural experience.
Tailored Programmes
We are also able to tailor our summer schools for the needs of specific groups. Please e-mail Intern-SummerSchools@ncl.ac. uk to discuss your requirements.
