Council of American Overseas Research Centers announces
THE ANDREW W. MELLON EAST-CENTRAL EUROPEAN FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
2007-2008 Fellowships in Humanities

The program of fellowships enables Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian and Slovak scholars in the humanities and allied social sciences to carry out research at institutes of advanced study in other countries. Each cycle will fund short-term residencies for up to three Mellon Research Fellows at each of the seventeen designated institutes in Austria, England, France, Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Italy, Jordan, the Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Spain, Turkey, and Yemen.

The fellowships are intended to serve younger scholars who have already obtained a Ph.D. or have equivalent experience and who wish to undertake a specific research project at one of the participating institutes. Each institute will issue its own announcement and will handle all matters concerning application and selection.
