PhD Studentship Statistical Methods in Longitudinal Studies Applied to Oral Health Research Dental Institute

Applications are invited for a mathematically minded individual to undertake research leading to a PhD in the area of Statistical Methods in Longitudinal Studies Applied to Oral Health Research under the supervision of Dr. Nora Donaldson and Professor Tim Newton. The use and robustness of these methods will be evaluated using NHS datasets. You should be educated to degree level, ideally in a numerical discipline and with some experience of health services research and extensive experience of statistical analysis. A Masters Degree would be an advantage, as would experience of data analysis and statistical modelling. You should have sound IT skills and be proficient in the use of Excel and either SPSS, SAS, Minitab or STATA. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate should be committed to develop his/her career as a specialist Research
Statistician in Oral Health Studies.

The 3 year studentship is based within the Dental Institute of Kings College London, King's Denmark Hill Campus, London SE5 9RS. It will meet the costs of tuition fees at the Home/EU rate and a stipend linked to MRC rates, currently £14,350 per annum in the first year with increases in years two and three.
