Applications are invited for a series of industrially-sponsored studentships (12 months full-time) on this exciting and timely new Masters course. The course covers all forms of energy conversion, including renewables, biomass and fuel cells coinciding with the huge demand for highly trained engineers who have strong enthusiasm for sustainability and the environment.
These studentships are sponsored by several market–leading companies and are worth £3,000 towards the tuition fee cost for a UK/EU student. The course includes a range of taught subjects (listed below) and also offers the unique opportunity to work closely with the company sponsor over the summer period on an individual dissertation project connected with the company’s research activities.

Uniquely, this course combines science and engineering matters relating to energy conversion technologies with the necessary practical skills for managing, assessing and planning sustainable built environments. This is achieved by developing an understanding of the social, economic and environmental aspects of energy systems and issues in addition to the technical subjects. Teaching is delivered through a combination of lectures, seminars, presentations and laboratory work. After successful completion of the taught modules, students will progress to work on the dissertation.
Minimum entry requirements are a 2:1 Honours Degree in engineering-related disciplines such as building services, civil, chemical, mechanical or from an appropriate scientific background such as physics or chemistry. Applications are also welcome from students from different backgrounds holding equivalent qualifications/experience.
