International Participants wanted for large Summercamp in Lithuania

International Participants wanted for large Summercamp in Lithuania, August 16th to 24th 2007

SILBA hereby invites 35 participants from all over Europe to participate in our large Summercamp held in Lithuania from Thursday 16th of August to Friday 24th of August.

We are looking for:

. 35 participants, (age 16-35, both genders) from political or politics related youth organisations from all over Europe (incl. South Caucasus). The camp is held in a forest in Lithuania. We will sleep in tents. We will transport you from Vilnius and back to Vilnius. We will provide you with tents, sleeping bags, air madrases, food, and materials and a great programme.

Special offer!!!

By "coincidence" a huge rock concert "Be2Gether" is held in Norviliskes 80 km from Vilnius, near the border to Belarus, from Friday 24th in the afternoon to Sunday 26th of August, just when our summercamp ends. (If you want, you are welcome to go back to Belarus directly after the camp). But if you would rather like to continue the fun, come with us in our rented busses to the concert. We will bring all the tents and stuff and build up our tent camp at the rock-concert Friday 24th and stay
until Sunday 26th. We will pay the tent fee (20 litas) for you, provided that you stay with us in our joint tent camp. (There is a participation fee of 88 litas = 26 Euro).

The camp itself will consist of 3+1 teams:

. Team Mogilev with 35 participants consisting of 3-7 members from 5-10 different youth organisations
. Team Grodno with 35 participants consisting of 3-7 members from 5-10 different youth organisations
. The International team consisting of 35 participants from different European countries
. and The organizer team consisting of 15-20 Danes, Swedes, Norwegians, Dutch, Lithuanians and Belarusians.

We are inviting 70 Belarusians from Mogilev and Grodno regions and 35 participants from all over Europe to come as the third team. If you have friends in Belarus, you are welcome to invite them as well. They will have to apply as everyone else. If they live in Mogilev/Grodno their participation will be decided by the regional recruiting officer in Mogilev/Grodno. If your Belarusian friend is from another region, he/she will join the International team.

If your Belarusian friends are from Mogilev/Grodno, they will then become your "enemy" at least for some of the time. There will however be plenty of time hanging out with old friends as well as making new friends.

The camp concept:

The camps 3 teams will compete against each other in a 7-days long "teambuilding game" to become the winners (the best at teambuilding) . Each team will during 4 of the days and nights be living on their own in 3 separate team-camps. The teams will live in the main camp for 3 days, during their preparations and during the evaluation.

The 3 competing camps will be fighting against each other to score points. To complicate the game the point are called "funny money" which also function as the currency in the camp, with which the team has to "buy" everything. The team that has most points (funny money) left, in the end of the game is the winner. The specific rules will be available in writing for all participants before the camp starts, making sure that everybody understands the game-rules.

The teams can win funny-money by:

. Taking one of the 3 flags of the other team(s)
. Catching someone from another team and taking of his/her armband (the looser has to leave the game for a period)
. Building something everyday (everyday the three teams are told to build boats, towers, bridges etc.)
. Winning during the "afternoon games" held every day (dividing the region-team in smaller groups for participation in several simultaneous games)
. Be good at cooperating, communication, delegating, involving everybody in each team
. Be good at cleaning up the team camps after the end of the game

During the game the teams have to use funny-money to:

. Buy better food (than the boring pasta and bread you get for free)
. Buy materials for the building jobs
. Buy materials for the camp infrastructure and defence
. Pay to have killed team mates freed from jail so that they can come back to the team (The price falls the longer you wait to free them)
