Master of Laws (LLM), Program in American Law / JD full tuition scholarships

As a strong academic community, committed to our students, we have designed curricula that produces broadly educated lawyers and we have developed an approach to teaching the law that is both challenging and supportive.

The Wake Forest LL.M. Program in American Law is a rigorous and challenging one-year program of study for lawyers and law graduates who have a first degree in law from a law school or law faculty in their home country.

The program is open only to foreign law graduates who plan to return to their home countries upon completion of their LL.M. degree.

Scholarships for JD students: Each year, the School of Law awards a number of scholarships to JD students, ranging in value from full tuition with a stipend and textbooks, to awards of $1,000. The LL.M program:
* Is a full-time program, beginning in the fall semester;
* Involves a number of excellent required courses that provide the basics of American jurisprudence;
* Encourages students to pursue their individual interests through research and coursework;
* Features a supportive mentoring program, a number of special opportunities, and the talents of Wake Forest's dedicated faculty;
* Offers small classes that include both American JD students and LLM students;
and Prepares students to return to their home countries, well-versed in American law.
(It is not designed to prepare students to take U.S. bar exams or to practice in the United States.)
