Founded in 1950, California Baptist University is affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention and is fully accredited. CBU is the only Southern Baptist college or university on the West Coast. Located 60 miles east of Los Angeles, Riverside is a community of 255,000. Rich in its own culture and history, Riverside is also close to remarkable cultural and recreational opportunities. The 103 plus acre campus reflects the Southern California environment, with a spectacular view of the nearby San Bernardino Mountains.
More than 3,700 students attend CBU, coming to Riverside from 37 states and 34 foreign countries. CBU currently has more than 200 faculty members (104 full-time). The student-to-faculty ratio is 16-to-1.

1. U.S. Academic Culture I & II (a course designed to develop students' language abilities and provide students with the perspectives and strategies to succeed in the U.S. university settings)
2. Business English I & II (a course that provides students to enter undergraduate and graduate level courses by practicing all four communicative skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing)
3. Comparative Cultures I & II (a course to help students explore elements of the social and work world with a global perspective, comparing American culture with their home cultures and develop a research project proposal).
