CfA: Nominations Aspen Romania Young Leaders' Program

Aspen Institute Romania

Young Leaders Programme 2010

As many of you know, the main Leadership Programme that the Institute holds every year, the Young Leaders Programme, has reached its 4th edition. The 2010 Young Leaders Programme will most certainly be as positive as the last ones, with an increase both in numbers of trans-year participants as well as in a larger spread of the Programme and the Aspen idea.

For those of you are less familiar with the Programme the Young Leaders Program has as main goal, as you can observe from the attached document, to create, in time, a network of young leaders at a regional level in the South East-Eastern Europe region. The young leaders will base their actions and initiatives on a certain set of principles that stand at the Aspen Institute base and at the base of the “Good Societyâ€ that we promote.

We are looking for young leaders in various fields (business, academic, public service, media, arts, sports, etc.), between 25 and 35 years old who have the potential and commitment to be leaders in their field. The objective of the program is to promote and advance progressive leadership within society and to create a network of young leaders based on shared values and common interests, as stated above.

The program will consist of three modules, in Romania (more details in the attached Description) culminating with a fourth "a community service based project at a local, national or regional scale, which will demonstrate both the Aspen/universal values but also the participants" leadership qualities. The program will have as main language English, so the participants must have a very good level of English. Costs for participants are minimum within Romania, and, based on well-argued requests for financial support for travel to Romania, we could provide financial support.

Therefore, if you consider the program could add real value to young people with leadership qualities and initiatives within your environment, we would appreciate a nomination from you for one or more individuals. Also, we would like to ask you to spread the Young Leaders Program idea where you find it suitable, looking forward for other possible nominations.

I have attached 2 documents: the Nomination Form and a more detailed description of the Young Leaders Program 2010.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Best regards,
