The Model United Nations Club at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) is honored to invite you to the annual Blagoevgrad International Model United Nations (BLIMUN) conference, whose 2010 edition will take place between March 19 and March 21 at AUBG, Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.
BLIMUN 2010 is a three-day simulation of the United Nations (UN) decision-making process, centered on resolution writing and interaction within the main bodies of the UN. The conference is designed as an experiential education forum providing participants the opportunity to practice and improve their negotiation skills through debate and learning in a non-formal setting.
BLIMUN 2010 will be a simulation of the Security Council (SC) and the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, thus aiming to introduce participants to the inner workings of the organization and the complexity of international cooperation.
The topics of this year's conference are:
* Piracy in the Gulf of Aden (Security Council)
* Tobin Tax: a means to fund efforts against climate change (Economic and Social Council)
