INVITATION
to the Introductory Training
Capacity Building of Youth for LGBTIQ Activism
The Youth Initiative for Human Rights, Belgrade, and Logos, Sarajevo, will organise a regional training for LGBTIQ activists: Capacity Building of Youth for LGBTIQ Activism.
A three-day training will be held on 22nd, 23rd and 24th of January, 2007, in Prishtina.
It aims at identifying and creating a critical mass of young LGBTIQ activists who will take part in the future activities of the two organisations. We plan to achieve this objective through education and individual capacity building of young people from the region.
This training will include two sets, as follows:
1. Basic Notions (human rights in the context of LGBTIQ activism and religion)
2. Basic Skills (project management, public relations, etc.)
Training will consist of lectures, workshops, screening of documentary movies and discussions, held by the representatives of the non-governmental organisations, as well as experts in the aforementioned subjects.
Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the organisers.
Should you be interested in this training, kindly send in your application to trening@yihr. org not later than 4 December 2006. Your application should consist of a brief curriculum vitae (no more than one page) and a motivation letter that clearly states why you are interested in LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer) activism. Applicants with incomplete applications will not be considered.
Selection criteria for the participants in this basic training includes:
· Clear motivation for active participation in the work of the two organisations;
· Participants should not be younger than 18 or older than 30, with the residence in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro or Kosovo.
