Call for Papers Announcement

Prospective scholars from both natural resource sciences with interest in the field of violent conflict and social sciences, particularly from the disciplines of law, anthropology and sociology are invited to submit an abstract of their papers no more than 400 words. Paper will be accepted only by electronic submission through the symposium web site. Prospective authors are expected to present full text of their paper at the conference.

Proposals must include a title, object, hypothesis, analysis and conclusion. The contact information of author should be mentioned in abstract (name, country, institution, postal address, electronic address, telephone and fax).

The submitted papers should address, but are not limited to, the following topics:

a) Factors of social conflicts: Ethnicity, religion and natural resources.

b) The role of the state in conflicts.

c) Non-state, local means of conflict prevention and resolution (custom, tradition, etc.).

d) State-administered means of conflict prevention and resolution (policies, law, justice system, law enforcement).

e) International and regional conflicts between states: The Middle East and beyond.

f) Research priorities and higher education in the field of conflict studies and conflict resolution.
