MSc or PhD studentship in Montreal, Canada

Openings for graduate students !!!

Two positions are opened for graduate students starting September 2007. Canadian students from within or outside Qubec, as well as foreign students are encouraged to contact Prof. Radu Iftimie by email at radu.ion.iftimie< at>umontreal. ca

We are interested in motivated students with a strong background in physical chemistry or chemical physics, and who feel they will enjoy working with a computer
more than working in an experimental lab. We have both theoretical (i.e.: with a pen and paper for math-loving dudes)and computational (i.e.: for those who like coding or doing experiments "in silico"). We also have a number of projects in collaboration with our experimental colleagues, so if you want to taste both
experiment and theory, you can do it !

Non-francophone prospective students, please be advised that:

* The language of instruction at Universit de Montral is French. There is no language requirement for admission into a PhD program (i.e: for students who already completed a MSc degree). However, such a requirement exists for admission to the MSc program.

* Graduate students are encouraged to learn French while in Montral; however, non-francophone students should not consider their lack of knowledge of the French language as an impediment to graduating with a PhD degree from our University. In addition, Montral is a bilingual city and you will have no problem living here if you only speak English.

Contact professor Radu Iftimie at the email address radu.ion.iftimie< at>umontreal. ca

When you do that, please send me an electronic copy of your CV, containing all the grades you received since starting University (very important).
