One-day Research Students' Conference, London, Monday 13 November 2006
Please bring the forthcoming UACES Research Students' Conference to the attention of any PhD students you may supervise particularly those who have just started their MPhil/PhD etc.
The one-day Research Students' Conference which will be held in London on Monday 13th November is aimed at research students of all levels who are engaged in the field of EU-related studies. The emphasis of the conference will be placed on tackling the specific challenges which arise when researching Europe as a doctoral student. This event offers an ideal introduction to the UACES community as well as an opportunity to meet fellow academics who are engaged in related fields of research.
Panel sessions at the conference include:
* International Students: How to Survive a PhD in the UK
* Finding e-Resources on European Studies
* Managing the Stages of the PhD
* The Endgame: Finishing your PhD
The programme includes a round-table discussion on "After the PhD" which will bring together speakers from academia, think-tanks and the European Institutions to reflect on the various options available to students following the completion of their PhD.
The conference will also include an organised "Networking Session" which will allow delegates to meet students from other institutions engaged in similar areas of research.
The registration fee is £35 for UACES members and £50 for non-UACES members.
