Scholarship in Modern Slavery Studies Department of History (WISE)
The Department of History and the Wilberforce Institute for the study of Slavery and Emancipation (WISE) offer a full-time three year scholarship leading to a PhD degree in the History of Modern Slavery. The scholarship is available from 1 February 2007 and will cover fees and provide a living allowance for the successful candidate at the standard research council rates. The scholarship is open to applicants interested in any area of slavery since 1500 but preference may be given to those interested in transatlantic slavery (including the slave trade) or in slavery in Africa.
