Applications are invited for two PhD studentships available for three years from November 2007 in the Department of Chemistry, The Open University.

PhD Studentship in Biological Silicon Chemistry

A PhD studentship is available in the area of biological silicon chemistry. This is suitable for any student with a good chemistry (or related) degree who has an interest in understanding the chemistry behind how biological systems make and break silicon-oxygen bonds and how this knowledge can be used to develop new materials using environmentally friendly processes.
