CfPart: Conference - Towards a "Post Carbon Society", Brussels, 24 O

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you that we are organising a Conference entitled "Towards a post-carbon society - European research on economic incentives and social behaviour" which will take place on 24 October 2007 at the European Commission, Rue de la Loi 170, Charlemagne building.

The objective of the conference is to highlight how the political, social and economic dynamics can make a huge difference over the long-term in facing the two major challenges of adaptation to climate change and to more expensive energy resources.

The focus of the conference is on the "demand side" of the energy and climate change debate. It enriches from the social sciences and humanities perspective the scientific and technology initiatives aiming to achieve the European Union greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency and renewables targets.

This conference should also help to identify concrete research opportunities on the topic "Socio-economic factors and actors that shape the post-carbon society" of the seventh RTD Framework Programme (Call for Proposals FP7-SSH-2007- 1 – Deadline on 29/11/2007).

There are no fees for this Conference but registration is necessary before the 8 October 2007 at the following web site address:
http://postcarbonso ciety.teamwork. fr/

As the places are limited, we will have to make a selection on the basis of the nationality, disciplines and sectors in order to have a balanced distribution of stakeholders across Europe.

All those invited will then receive a confirmation by Email by the 11 October 2007. Registration:
