Generation, transmission and processing of high speed optical data signals for use in WDM systems - School of Electronic Engineering, Dublin City Univ

The Radio and Optical Communications Laboratory currently has vacancy for highly motivated researcher at post-graduate level to undertake research work leading to a PhD degree. The main area of research will be the development of high-capacity optical networks. The research will be mainly experimental work that will involve investigation of the generation, transmission and processing of high speed optical data signals for use in WDM systems operating at linerates from 10 to > 100 Gbit/s.

This is an opportunity for Electronic Engineering/Physics/Telecommunications graduates with interest and experience in optoelectronics, fibre optics, and laser physics to join a vibrant research team which works along side industrial partners and academic institutions to undertake leading-edge research in photonic systems.

Funding Notes
Successful applicant will have their University fees paid in full and will also receive a studentship starting a level of €17,000 per year.
