A post-doctoral position (Experienced Researcher) for 16 months is available at the Physics Department of the University of Ioannina, Ioannina, GR451 10, Greece. The research will be carried out in the framework of the EU Marie Curie Research Training Network UniverseNet (http://www.physics.ox.ac.uk/universenet).
The main interests of the Ioannina group are String and Brane Cosmology, CMB and Dark Matter. The candidate is expected to have some experience in Particle Physics and contribute in one or more of these areas. A background knowledge of Cosmology is also expected.
Applicants must be citizens of a EU Member or Associated State (except Greece) or those who have resided in the EU for at least four years prior to the appointment. They must not have resided or studied in Greece for more than 12 months in the 3 years preceeding their appointment (short stays e.g. holidays are exempt). Greek nationals are eligible only if they have resided legally and have their main activity in a third country for at least four of the last five years prior to their appointment.
Applicants must have at least 4 years but no more than 10 years of research experience (since obtaining the degree which qualifies them to pursue doctoral studies; usually this means MSc or BSc) at the time of appointment, or be already in possession of a Doctoral Degree.
