Extended Application
Due to technical problems we decided to extend the application process.
You only have to register and write three essays about your choice for a workgroup, your motivation and the motto of ISWI 2009.
Apply now!
The new application deadline will be January the 31st, 2009.
It's your turn...
The ISWI is a conference that attaches high importance to the thematic work. There are different ways to deal with the topic "Human Rights", e.g. there are lectures, debates, workshops and presentations. But the main part of the thematic work of ISWI 2009 will be the group work. As you can see on the following pages we created 25 groups that deal with certain aspects of the central topic. There are thematic groups, art groups and also a documentation group. You can have a look on the descriptions and then decide which group you would like to join. The groups consist of 15 to 20 participants. At the beginning of the group work or during the week, a lecture will be given on every topic by an expert. He or she will tell you about his or her experiences, thoughts and ideas.
The ISWI 2009 is open to all students at universities and colleges, no matter where you are from. For insurance and liability reasons you have to be at least 18 years old by May 8th, 2009. You will know if you are accepted as one of 370 participants as soon as you receive the Official Invitation which will be mailed in February or March 2009 - Please be patient and refrain from asking constantly - we will appreciate it.
In your application you can choose your favourite three work groups (WG). Because of the big amount of applications it may be that your first choice unfortunately cannot be considered. But we try our best to fulfil your wishes. You can still change your work group until the deadline for applications (January, 31st). After this no more changes will be accepted.
If you have access to the Internet, you can get involved in discussions focussing on our topics even before ISWI. Please visit the forum on our website. The following topics were fixed:
