CfA: MSc in Revolution and Counter-Revolution, University of Stirling

Department of History at the University of Stirling (Scotland, UK) invites applications for its MSc in Revolution and Counter-Revolution, starting in September 2009 (full academic year).

The MSc in Revolution and Counter-Revolution is a new and unique taught Master's programme that explores the history of revolution and counter-revolution, building on the research expertise of members of the Departments of History and Politics. It involves two core seminars in the first semester that explore the theory and practice of revolutions in the past, followed by optional topics in the second semester on specific revolutionary movements. The degree culminates in a dissertation supervised by an expert in the field. The Department's postgraduate training programme is designed primarily to prepare you for further research. However, graduates with an MSc in Revolution and Counter-Revolution are also likely to be attractive to a range of employers in the flourishing heritage industry as well as in education. There is also a wide range of non-history related employment open to well-qualified historians, who are known by employers to have excellent skills in dealing with large volumes of data, drawing balanced conclusions and communicating these clearly.
