The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University invites applications for an immediate opening of a non-tenure track position of Assistant Research Professor. A unique aspect of the program is the extensive research and educational collaborations with the outstanding Duke University Medical Center departments,
facilitated by the immediate physical proximity of the Engineering School and the Medical Center. The responsibilities of the non-tenure track position of Assistant Research Professor will include conducting research in neural prosthesis, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, and assisting in lab and project management. While the focus of the position is on research, teaching opportunities may become
available based upon department needs.
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering with outstanding academic credentials and express intent in developing an independent academic career. Additional qualifications include: more than three years of post-doctoral training, prior preclinical research experience on electrical stimulation for control of bladder function, prior clinical research experience on the function and dysfunction of the lower urinary tract, and experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
