Postdoc, Quality of Government Institute, University of Gothenburg

The University of Gothenburg offers two positions each limited in time to two years as Post-doctoral Fellow (Postdoktor - forskare) to be placed at the Department of Political Science.

The Fellowships will entail research within the research program entitled "The Quality of Government (QoG) Institute at Göteborgs University" and led by Professor Bo Rothstein and Professor Sören Holmberg. The research program conducts research on the implications, causes, and effects of variations in the quality of public institutions and it comprises around 20 researchers.

The Fellows will primarily conduct their own research within the program as well as participate in the different activities of the research program. The Fellows are expected to also commit to a certain amount of teaching and supervision at the Department. Information about the research program can be found on www.qog.pol. gu.se. The working language of the QoG Institute is English.

We are primarily looking for applicants who hold a PhD degree that has been received between January 11, 2007 and January 11, 2010 and have solid experience in theoretical and empirical comparative research. Preference will be given to candidates with competence in the areas of comparative politics, institutional analysis, political economy, democracy, development and opinion formation.
