PhD Position, Biocenter, University of Wuerzburg, Germany

A Ph.D. student position is available in the group of Prof. Stefan Gaubatz at the Biocenter, University of Wuerzburg/ Germany. Research in our group is focused on the transcriptional control of the cell cycle and its role in early mammalian development and in tumorigenesis.

Current projects in the lab are focused on the retinoblastoma tumor suppressor family, E2F-transcription factors and epigenetic gene regulation. We employ state-of-the- art technologies including Chromatin-immunopre cipitations (ChIP), RNA interference, cDNA microarrys and cre-lox based mouse models.

Highly motivated students with a Diploma or Master in Biology, Biochemistry or Molecular Medicine are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in molecular and cellular biology and / or mouse genetics is of advantage.
