The Division of Optimization and Systems Theory within the Department of Mathematics offers a position as a PhD student in the research area of Mathematical Control Theory.
Optimization and Systems Theory is a discipline in applicable mathematics in which theory and methods are developed for a broad range of applications in control, logistics, planning, and signal processing.
Certain departmental duties are included in the employment, such as teaching up to 20% of the time over the whole period of employment. The salary is determined by the collective agreement for PhD students, and the employment is time limited to five years.
Qualifications
We seek a person with a strong background in mathematics (in particular in analysis), with an interest in control theory. The successful applicant should also be highly motivated, should have the ability to work independently and should have good communication skills.
