Scholarship Description: The Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford proposes to appoint up to two post-doctoral research assistants to work in a new research group on Geometry and Representation Theory starting 1st October 2011, or some mutually agreed later date. These are fixed-term positions for two years from the starting date.The successful candidate(s) will be expected to have an undergraduate degree in mathematics or mathematical physics, and a PhD in mathematics or mathematical physics either awarded or submitted at the time of taking up the post.

The PhD should be in one of the broad areas of the grant "algebraic geometry, or representation theory, or mathematical physics" and the candidate should have some knowledge of some subjects relevant to the projects to be undertaken. We are looking for able candidates with a good
publication record, judged by the stage in their career, who will be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
