These research awards are aimed at outstanding international students in the field of science, engineering/technology, medicine and social science, to cover tuition fees and subsistence. Departments must be ranked 5/5* for research purposes. Candidates must have a first class honours/overseas equivalent first degree from an institution of very high standing.
Applicants must:
- Be academically outstanding
- Be overseas for fee purposes and from one of the eligible countries
- Have a qualification at least equivalent to a UK first-class honours degree from a prestigious academic institution
- Candidates must have been accepted to commence a PhD or DPhil
- The competition is open to students who have started their PhDs, but only those who have started since the close of the previous DHPA competition at each University.
