NTUST is located in Taipei, about five kilometers west of world's tallest building-Taipei 101.

NTUST Statistics:
In 2006, student enrollment totaled 8,900 with 3,900 in the graduate program. There are 320 full-time faculties in five colleges: Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Management, Design, and Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; with a total 20 departments and graduate schools, a teacher education center, a department of

National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taiwan's first technical university established in 1974, aims to meet the need created by Taiwan's rapid economic and industrial development for highly trained engineers and managers.
It pledges itself to excellence in education, research, and service to the society. Department of Chemical Engineering established in 1978, provides students with:
Fundamental knowledge and design capability in the fields of chemical engineering and technology. Advanced research programs in core competency areas, such as materials science, biotechnology, nanotechnology, electrochemical engineering.

ChE Department:
Established in 1978, ChE department offers training and research in the fields of engineering design, thermodynamics, materials science and technology, environmental engineering, system simulation and control, polymer science and engineering, reaction engineering, biotechnology. There are 29 full-time faculties all have his/her own well-equipped laboratories. The research performance of ChE department of NTUST is among the top ones in 33 ChE departments of Taiwan's universities.

ChE International Graduate Admission:
Since the first semester of 2004, ChE department initiated a graduate program for international students with objective of providing qualified students to pursue graduate study in master or PhD program. Totally 27 international students have enrolled in this program. Six of them had already graduated with master degree in 2006. The course and research requirements for international students are the same as
those for local students. English is the language used in this program.

Financial Aids:
Paying for a high-quality education is a primary concern for students. NTUST provides some form of financial assistance scholarships, tuition waiver, work-study on campus or a combination of these resources to the international students. Scholarships (10,000 NT/month and 15,000 NT/month for students in master and PhD program plus tuition waiver) are available for qualified international students.
(The living cost is around 8,000 to 10,000 NT/month for a graduate student in Taipei City.) In addition to the scholarship, graduate students in each faculty's research laboratory may obtain research fellow-ship from faculty's research grant.

Accommodations:
NTUST provides on-campus dormitories for international students. The dormitory fee for one semester is about 6,500 NT.
