New Project: Vital Balkans Peace Park

Dear Friend,

First of all, if you have no knowledge of the Balkans Peace Park Project please accept our sincerest apologies. We are in the process of streamlining our contacts database and it is possible you have been contacted in error. If you would like to find out who we are visit www.balkanspeacepar k.org.

If, however, you have an interest in the BPPP and would like us to stay in touch with you WE NEED YOU to respond to this mail.

The BPPP became a registered charity in Aug '04. Since then our work has mushroomed, as has our contact databases and our legal responsibilities. On Saturday the 30th September this year we will have our second AGM (details below). By this time we would like to be able to clearly present information about our contacts' and our
members' databases.

To this end we would like you to let us know how you see yourself in relation to the BPPP.

If you would like to become a member of the BPPP please visit the following web page http://www.balkansp eacepark. org/membership. php and fill in the relevant membership form, or come to the AGM and join there. There is a membership fee of five pounds for all UK members.

If you are not interested in becoming a member but would like remain on our contacts list please email info@balkanspeacepa rk.org. Write 'CONTACT LIST' in the subject line, and if you would like us to have any further contact details (in addition to your e-mail) please include them in the body of the mail.

If you are not interested in being contacted by the BPPP again simply don't respond to this e-mail. After our AGM we will only send mail outs to people who have responded to this mail. If however you receive this mail after the 30th September 2006 please feel free to respond, we will then add you to our database.

If you are already a member you do not need to respond to this mail as we will already have your details on file.

AGM Details:

The AGM will be held on the 30th September 2006 at the offices of JR Jones Solicitors, 58 Uxbridge Road, Ealing, London W5 2ST, approximately half a mile from Ealing Broadway Tube and Mainline Rail station. The formal business will begin at 2.30 p.m. and will be followed by refreshments and a chance to talk with committee members and see some of the results of our activities. The meeting will end around 6 p.m.

For a detailed map of the AGM location please click on the following web link:

We welcome everyone to attend the AGM. To have voting rights you will need to become a member (see above). If you would like to attend the AGM please send an email to
info@balkanspeacepa rk.org. Write 'AGM ATTENDER' in the subject line and please include your name and a contact telephone number in the body of the mail.

The Annual Report and Accounts will be posted in early September on our web site (www.balkanspeacepa rk.org), along with the AGM agenda and other papers.

The UN Environment Programme Podgorica conference in June 2006 on transnational protected areas in the Balkans was highly significant for BPPP. As 2006 is also becoming an important year for political change in the area, with independence for Montenegro and emerging proposals for Kosovo/a, the AGM will be an opportunity to review any new developments.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

With best wishes

Antonia Young, Chair
