Participants: 6 youngsters(3 boys + 3 girls if possible) from each country (between 18-22 years old)
1 leader from each country, 2 from Portugal (the leader of the group don’t have a age limit)
Travel, Accommodation, Activities Expenses:
This project will apply EU “Youth Program”, so we will cover 70% of participants travel cost and we will give everything here (meals, accommodation, activities)
Participation fee: 100 euros (each person)
Project Description:
The Portuguese youngsters who are organising this exchange, have already participated in other National and International exchanges, and are highly motivated to make this activity a success.
We wish that this activity become a special moment in every participant’s personal life, as a result of the share of culture, experiences among all participants, and by the awareness that they will gain of European Citizenship.

Description:
ProAtlântico - Associação Juvenil was founded in 2001 is based in Porto Salvo, Oeiras, and carries out activities with children, young people, elderly people, and handicapped people, mainly in Oeiras Municipality.
Most of the activities with children and young people take place during the school breaks, such as sport tournaments, National and International exchanges, and entertaining and cultural activities; and after school, as educational support. We try to help these young people to develop life skills, to be more independent.
Along the year we have several projects with elder people, as summer camps, Cultural Trips, New Year party, and balls.
We work together with Cooperativa de São Pedro an Education and Rehabilitation Institution for mental disable people, in a voluntary project that tries to keep the patients that live there busy during the time that Institution is not able to develop activities (during the week days at night, and weekends), the main aim is to enable people mentally disabled to actively participate in the creation and developing civil society by joining events and other activities, creating conditions to experience things that weren’t available for them before.
In 2003, we started to work with Youth Program, and we took part in youth exchanges in ( Estonia , Romania , Germany , Italy , Portugal , Austria and France ) and in several training courses and seminars around Europe .
In 2006 we became a host and sending organization of European Voluntary Service, we have two approved project 2006-PT-07 and 2006-PT-07.
Today ProAtlântico – Associação Juvenil has more than 300 members, and gives special attention to needy people, and those with less opportunities. And aims to give people the chance to establish contact with other cultures, in order to help them to find ways to deal with their own problems and to break the existing prejudices.

Oeiras is an important Village (45,8/km2) that offers the dynamism of large number of habitants (162.124) mainly young, near Lisbon the capital of Portugal (15 minutes), and 20 minutes from Sintra - World Patrimony, and 10 minutes from Cascais bay.
Oeiras has got many infrastructures of economic development such as TagusPark, LagoasPark and Quinta da Fonte (business centres). The Cultural opportunities are guaranteed not just because of the village environment and heritage (such as the Palace of Marquês , the gunpowder factory, the Poets Park and the recreation harbour) as for the preservation and good use of the space by the local authorities. The Shopping Center Oeiras Parque is a good example of an infrastructure that provides entertaining activities (shopping, cinemas) and rapid access to basic primary products to the inhabitants of the municipality.
