Fully-funded PhD Studentships in Geography

The School of Geography at the University of Nottingham invites applications from suitably qualified students for the following studentships to cover maintenance and fees for full-time study.

- Up to 2 fully-funded ESRC quota award PhD studentships (either 1+3 or +3) in human geography
All candidates must fulfil relevant ESRC eligibility criteria. If awarded on a 1+3 basis, the ESRC awards may be held by students on each of six of the School’s Masters courses: MSc Economy, Space and Society; MSc Environmental History; MA/MSc Environmental Management; MSc Human Geography; MSc Human Geography and Chinese Studies; MA Landscape and Culture.

- Up to 2 fully-funded School studentships for research in any area of human or physical geography
These studentships include payment of fees at the Home/EU rate and a maintenance grant (at the level recommended by research councils) for three years. To be eligible for the awards, students will be required to apply for AHRC and other research council studentships where appropriate. Please note that School studentships are only available to UK/EU citizens, and to international students who have applied for an ORS award (September 2007 start) for study at the University of Nottingham.

All studentships will commence in September 2007.
