The Fund for American Studies proudly presents the premier leadership institutes in Central Europe. We have been serving young leaders throughout the continent since 1993 and have had over 1500 students attend our programs just in Prague alone. The networking possibilities are endless. Every July, AIPES brings together about 125 CEE and American (about 8-10 per year on average) students to Prague to educate them about the political science and economics. The program lasts for about 3 weeks (July 12 - August 1, 2008) and at the end of the program, students take 2 exams in both subjects. If they pass the exams they will receive 3 credit hours from Georgetown as our program is listed in your catalog. I am also including the links to our academic web page:

Along with the academic requirements, there are a number of social events hosted in Prague. The US Ambassador the Czech Republic hosts our class at a private reception in our honor at the residence, students host one fundraising event each year, we provide one field trip to a popular destination outside of Prague and the students take advantage of what Prague has to offer.
Please also take note of our European Journalism Program (July 5-12) as well. It is a one-week program for working journalists or students of journalism. In Prague, participants will learn about the importance of journalism ethics, tutorials on how they can become better journalists, free market economics classes, and guest lectures or panels being held on the hot journalism topics of Europe: http://tfasinternat ional.org/ eji/about/
