CfA: Artists and organizations, BuildaBridge

BuildaBridge International seeks collaborations with organizations and artists involved in relief and community development around the world. Our goal is to provide needed holistic development through direct service and training in arts-based intervention. Our philosophy is to meet the needs of the most vulnerable populations and to assist local organizations in sustainable development through local arts resources.

ORGANIZATIONS
Requirements for participating organizations:
1. Legally registered non-profit (NGO) organization or congregation
2. Working at the community level in education, social service, life skills training,
relief, or development
3. Interested in the arts as life changing tools
4. Maintains a local office with staff working on a full-time basis
5. Willing to provide local support (e.g. room and board and/or transportation etc.)
and supervision for interns and visiting teams
6. Interested in arts-based training for local staff

ARTISTS
Join the advanced volunteer program of BuildaBridge International comprised of creative arts therapy professionals, teaching artists, and community service workers trained in emergency relief and development through artistic intervention. Our mission is to bring–through the arts–emotional healing, a sense of normalcy, aesthetic nourishment, and holistic development to children, families, and communities around the world who have experienced traumatic circumstances as a result of poverty, war, and catastrophic events around the world.

Requirements for participating artists:
1. Strong motivation
2. Ability to deal with difficult environments
3. Creativity in working with a scarcity of artistic resources
4. Training in therapeutic art modalities, community development, and crisis
management
5. Ability to raise funds in order to cover partially or entirely the travel expenses
