Wallace Stegner Research and Creative Fellowship Announced for 2008-2009 academic year | Research and Creative Fellowship in honor of the Life and Work of Wallace Stegner at the Tanner Humanities Center and the Wallace Stegner Center at the University of Utah.
In celebration of the Wallace Stegner Centennial, the Tanner Humanities Center and the Wallace Stegner Center at the University of Utah invite fellowship proposals for the academic year of 2008-2009.The fellow may propose research and writing in any of the humanities, as defined by the NEH. The proposal may deal with Stegner as an author (biography), his work (criticism), or may concern his legacy with regard to literature, environmental ethics and philosophy, environmental history, environmental
law, or the environmental humanities generally.
Applicants may be tenured or untenured faculty at a university or other institution of higher education, or indepedent scholars.
The fellowship proposal must be clearly written and free of jargon, and must describe precisely what the applicant will do while in residence, including a contribution to the campus and the citizens of the state of Utah. The fellow will be expected to participate in and contribute to the Stegner Centennial celebration events. (Feb. 15 deadline)
