Call for Papers: Special Issue on the Water and Sea Issues

Special Issue Editor: Assoc. Prof. Yücel ACER

This call invites submissions for a special issue in 2008 summer (Vol. 4 – Issue 14) on “Water and Sea Issues”. Articles to be included in this issue are expected on the topics mentioned below:

Water Issues and Water Law:
-Current global threats to the water resources
-International efforts towards protecting and developing the water resources
-United Nations and the water issue
-Regional water problems
-The reflections of the water problems on the foreign policies of governments
-Effective means of settling the water problems
-Legal rules and principles concerning the use of tans-boundary water resources and their contemporary interpretations
-Developing legal rules concerning the use of trans-boundary water resources

Sea Issues and the Law of the Sea:
-Contemporary forms of using seas
-Sea areas and their natural resources
-The law of the sea and its development
-The law of the sea and international security
-The controls of ships at high seas for the purpose of international security
-Delimitation of the sea areas between two or more states
-The law of the sea and illegal immigration and asylum issues
