CfP: Urban Studies, Studia Socilogie

Dear all,

The Editorial Board of Studia Sociologia launches the invitation for submitting manuscripts for its June 2009 special issue: "Restructuring the Postsocialist City. Global Networks and Micro Actors".

The aim of this thematic issue is to gather empirical and theoretical works which investigate the intricate processes of rearticulation in the geography of marginalization or connection of postsocialist cities in the global networks of capitalism, "in and with the ruins" of their socialist past. We encourage contributions analyzing the last 18 years of spatial transformations of urban history
in Central and Eastern Europe. We especially welcome manuscripts addressing problems related to the ways in which micro actor-networks restructure the urban space in the changing settings of global opportunities.

Studia Sociologie is the peer-reviewed journal of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, published bi-annually as part of the Studia Series of the "Babeº-Bolyai" University. The journal particularly welcomes academic papers grounded in empirical research or focused on the social realities of Central and Eastern Europe.
