Dear all,
I am putting together a panel for AAASS in Boston on conditionality in former Yugoslavia. If you are working on the topic and plan to attend or interested in attending the AAASS convention, please send me a short bio and an abstract. For details about the convention see http://www.fas. harvard.edu/ ~aaass/conventio n.html.
For the panel proposal I am looking for case studies on the impact of EU conditions in areas extending beyond "conventional" EU conditionality in Central and Eastern Europe. In particular, I am interested in proposals regarding ICTY conditionality in Serbia and Croatia, conditions regarding state-building in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Serbia (i.e. Serbia and Montenegro). The studies should be driven by original research and make a contribution to our understanding of the effectiveness of conditionality. It is planned that the panel will be published as a special journal issue.
Please send me a short abstract (200 words) and a brief bio by 9 January 2009 to bieberf@gmx. net. I will respond in the following days to let you know, whether your proposal fits the planned panel.
Thank you and looking forward hearing from you,
Florian Bieber
