CfP: Southeast European Research Center, 4th Doctoral Conference

Dear All,

I would like to inform this list about a conference which will take place in
Thessaloniki, Greece on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th July 2009. This conference will be hosted by the South East European Research Centre [SEERC] www.seerc.org

The purpose of the conference is to offer up and coming scholars who are either in the process of their PhD or have just completed it [up to 2 years ago] the opportunity to present their doctoral work to their peers and to an expert discussant. The conference takes place with the usual academic format of a paper presentation lasting 20 minutes and then detailed feedback and discussion for each participant which will help to develop and fine tune research beyond the usual supervision process. All presentations will be done in English.

Papers will be considered which explore aspects of South East Europe in relation to the academic disciplines and clusters listed below, although inter-disciplinarit y is encouraged and expected. Scholars from other fields such as anthropology are more than welcome to attend:

The deadline for the submission of an extended abstract is 15th February 2009. Please contact Sara Hannam at hannam@city. academic. gr for further details.
